This November, the Rincón de la Victoria became the epicentre of cycling with the celebration of the eagerly awaited Classic Race of the Rincón de la Victoria. With more than 600 participants, this cycling event has proven to be a standout date on the region’s sporting calendar, attracting cyclists of all levels who seek to challenge themselves on a spectacular route.

The course of the Classic Race of Rincón de la Victoria is known for its toughness and natural beauty, featuring passages through emblematic villages such as Comares, Almáchar, El Borge, Cútar, Totalán, Benamargosa and Moclinejo. The route includes three climbs: Moclinejo, Alto de la Pasa and, as the final and toughest ascent, La Bolina from Comares. This last climb begins with 1.5 km at an average gradient of 11% and totals 15 km at 4.6%, although after passing Comares there is a short descent. In total, the event accumulates 1,900 m of elevation over 72 km. And you won’t be left breathless only by its difficulty, but also by the magnificent views of the Mediterranean Sea, especially in the final part of the route.
The combination of favourable weather and a festive atmosphere made this edition even more memorable, with participants enjoying not only the competition, but also the camaraderie, the passion for cycling and, of course, the final paella.
For those who couldn’t attend or wish to relive the highlights, I have put together a video that captures the essence of this exciting day. You can watch it here:
Without a doubt, this event has left an unforgettable mark on everyone who took part or attended, establishing itself as an essential date for cycling enthusiasts in Málaga.
In addition to taking part, I had the honour of appearing on the event’s official poster alongside Victor Campenaerts, with whom I had the opportunity to break away in the 2023 edition.
For those who wish to analyse the route in detail, in addition to the video I have made my Strava activity available with all the data from the day.
